Payments, cancellations and refunds

How paying the Monadnocks Foundation works, what you receive, and when we cancel or refund a payment.

Last updated: 3 October 2026

1. Who this policy is for

This policy explains how payments to the Monadnocks Foundation ("the Foundation", "we") work – event registration fees and donations – and when we cancel or refund them. The Foundation is a non-profit based at Village Purhara, Haspura, Aurangabad, Bihar 824120, India.

Donations have a few extra rules, explained in our donation policy.

2. How payments work

  • By UPI. Pay from your own UPI app to the UPI ID shown on this website: with the QR code we make for each payment, the "Pay with UPI app" button, or by typing in the UPI ID. For an event fee, the QR code is shown right after you register and on Check your registration; for a donation, on our Donate page. The QR code already holds the amount and a note (for an event fee, your registration number).
  • In person. You can also pay to a member of the Foundation team. For an event fee, give your registration number and ask for the payment to be recorded; it then shows on your registration.
  • There is no payment gateway: our team checks every payment by hand. After paying by UPI, please send us the screenshot or the UPI transaction ID – on your registration for an event fee, or with the form on the Donate page for a donation – so that we can match your payment.
  • You pay in your own UPI app, so we never see or store your UPI PIN, bank password or OTP. We keep the amount, the date, how you paid, and the UPI transaction ID and screenshot you send us.
  • All amounts are in Indian rupees (₹). We do not add any extra charge on top of the amount shown.
  • Stay safe: before you pay, check that your UPI app shows the payee name shown next to the QR code on this website. We will never ask for your OTP, UPI PIN or card details by phone, message or email. If anyone asks you to pay a different UPI ID or account, please check with us first.

3. Event registration fees

  • The fee for each event and category is shown on the event's page before you register, and again before you pay. Some categories are free.
  • The fee is a small token amount that confirms your place. It covers the cost of running the event, such as question papers, equipment, prizes and arrangements on the day.
  • Entries on a waiting list are not asked to pay until a place is confirmed.

4. What you receive after paying

  • Straight away: your UPI app shows the payment with its UPI transaction ID. Please keep a screenshot until the event is over.
  • On your registration: once you have sent the screenshot or UPI transaction ID, it shows that we have received it. When our team has found your payment, the fee shows as paid. You can check it at any time on Check your registration with your registration number.
  • By email: your registration number as soon as you register, and a message when our team has marked your payment as received (if you gave an email address).
  • The service itself: your place in the event on the date shown on the event's page, and your result published on this website afterwards. Nothing is posted or shipped to you.

5. If you cancel or cannot attend

You can cancel your registration at any time before the event by calling or writing to us with your registration number. Because the fees are small token amounts that go towards the event, fees are not refunded if you cancel, change your mind or do not attend – except in the cases in the next section.

6. When we refund in full

You get the whole amount back if:

  1. We cancel the event and do not hold it on another date.
  2. We move the event to a new date and you cannot attend on the new date – tell us within 7 days of the new date being announced.
  3. You paid the same fee twice, or paid more than the fee shown.
  4. We cancel your entry because of a mistake on our side, or because the category was already full.

We do not refund the fee if an entry is cancelled because the details given were false, the participant was not eligible for the category, or because of misconduct at the event.

7. Failed, unconfirmed and double payments

  • If a UPI payment fails, the money does not reach us. If money did leave your account for a failed payment, your bank or UPI app normally returns it on its own; if it does not, please contact your bank.
  • Because every payment is checked by hand, a payment shows as paid only after our team has found it. Until then your registration shows that the fee is not paid yet, or that we have received your screenshot or UPI transaction ID and are checking it.
  • If our team cannot find your payment, your registration shows "payment not found". Please check your UPI app: if the money left your account, send us the screenshot or UPI transaction ID again; if it did not, pay again. If you are unsure, contact us before paying a second time.
  • If you pay twice for the same registration, tell us and the second payment is refunded in full.

8. How to ask for a refund

  1. Write to contactmonadnocks@gmail.com or call +91 75410 62514 within 30 days of the payment (or of the event being cancelled or moved).
  2. Tell us your registration number (for an event fee), the UPI transaction ID – or, for a payment made in person, when and to whom you paid – and the reason.
  3. We reply within 3 working days.
  4. Approved refunds are sent back by UPI or bank transfer, to the UPI ID or account you paid from, within 7 working days of approval. For a payment made in person, tell us the UPI ID or account to send the refund to.

If you have a problem with a payment, please contact us before raising a dispute with your bank – most problems are solved quickly.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy, for example when we add a new way to pay. The date at the top shows when it last changed. A payment is covered by the policy that was in place on the day you paid.
